[MAPS AND PRINTS]. DORÉ, Gustave (1832-1883). Pair of Large Engraved Prints, One Signed by Doré and the Engraver, John Saddler. [London: ca. 1880s]. Prints approximately 25 x 35" (mounted onto a larger sheet, approximately 28 x 39") and 28 x 34". THESE PRINTS COME WITH A COA FROM NATE D. SANDERS, STATING THAT THESE PRINTS WERE FROM THE ESTATE OF LEGENDARY SCIENCE FICTION/HORROR WRITER, RAY BRADBURY (1920-2012).
Condition
Plates heavily worn, with several marginal tears, chips, creases. Fair.
- Provenance
Prints include: "Vale of Tears" (untitled - image of Jesus after the resurrection, carrying his cross) - SIGNED IN PENCIL by Doré and Saddler (mounted onto larger sheet); "The Neophyte" (a young monk with older monks).
