Extracted pamphlet or newsbook (some light marginal toning). EXECUTION OF HENRY VANE THE YOUNGER. Vane was the son of Sir Henry Vane the Elder and became a prominent English politician during the period of the English Civil War. He held various positions, including Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in North America. Despite his early support for Oliver Cromwell and the Commonwealth, he later fell out of favor and was eventually executed after the restoration of the monarchy under Charles II.
