This is an auction replete with standouts. Works by Magritte, Tamayo, Paschke, Wirsum and multiple mixed media collages and prints from the celebrated Tony Fitzpatrick will cross the block. A significant work by Bill Traylor leads the Outsider Art session, alongside major works by Finster, Yoakum, Dial, Sparrow, and Dawson. Folk art includes a carved grotto Jesus and Devil train set sculpture from Wisconsin, and three oversize leaves by Ivan Albright lead the fine art session. - Lot Description
ODIORNE, William (American,1881-1978). Portfolio of 12 Vintage Silver Gelatin Prints. Circa 1920. Six works signed. Largest 6 3/4 x 9". Portfolio stamped Made in France. All photos adhered with unknown adhesive. All mounted on 14 x 11" folded deckled edge paper with two photos on each single folded page, a mix of inside or out.
Condition
On the paper where the photos are mounted, there is foxing at the top margin edge and heavy toning at perimeter edges. General toning overall. The photos have silvering in multiple areas often near the edges. One photo has approximately a quadrant of silvering/discoloration. Portfolio has spine damage and at top and bottom there is paper loss and splits in construction. It is also torn and loose with connection to front and back cover. Very weak. The photos are in good shape beyond the silvering and issues with the mounts.
