- Lot Description
[ORIGINAL ARTWORK]. ?Star of the West Pearson & Snow, Chicago? Tobacco Label Artwork. Chicago: Chas. Shober & Co., ca. 1870s-1880s]. Original pen, ink, charcoal, and pastel illustration for a tobacco label on illustration paper. With paper onlay with a lithographed circular border, with editorial pencil notes on front and rear. Image size 10? in diameter; paper size 11 x 12?. Paper worn, soiled, torn, lithographed border torn and chipped, with a portion at the bottom missing (approximately 5? long), pin-holes at corners. There is an editorial note in pencil on the central star image, ?larger.? Good.
