Gutekunst, ca. 1866]. Carte de Visite albumen print of Grant in his uniform, signed by him beneath the image, ?U. S. Grant Lt. Gen. U. S. A." Albumen print on mount, with photographer's backmark credit on verso. Albumen approximately 3 ? x 2. Mount approximately 4 x 2 ?". Corners rounded, as issued. Toned, rubbed, faint occasional soiling, Internal Revenue 2-cent stamp on verso, contemporary previous owner's gift inscription. Very good. A handsome image of Grant as Lt. General. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy. Measurements: 4 x 2 ?".
