[ii], [30], [ii], [1]-204 pp. Bound in later plain boards, calf spine, lacking spine label, later endleaves. THE FIRST COMPLETE EDITION OF THE FIRST THREE BOOKS OF POPE'S DUNCIAD.
Condition
Binding worn, soiled, joints cracking, text wrinkled with occasional soiling, a few leaves with marginal worm damage. Good.
- Provenance
The Dunciad is a satire epic poem, mocking the mediocrity of 18th-century English society. The vignette on the title-page depicts a jackass, indicative of Pope's mockery.
