RAICHE, Bessica. (1875-1932) Photo of Bessica F. Raiche, First Woman Aviator in America. Bessica Faith Raiche nee Medlar was the first woman in the United States accredited with flying solo in an airplane, which was built in the Curtiss style by her husband, Frank Raiche, and herself. This vintage photo depicts Bessica at the controls of an airplane with a superimposed image of a medal ?to the First Woman Aviator of America, Bessica Raiche? awarded her by the Aeronautical Society of America. 6 ? x 4 ??. Very good.
