SCHEIDLER, John G. (d. 1902). Magic Catalogs and Ephemera. Cleveland, 1880s. Including: the pitch book Scheidler's Art of Conjuring Simplified, New Illustrated and Descriptive Catalogue Describing Many Attractive Novelties (not a magic catalog), New Illustrated and Descriptive Catalogue of John G. Scheidler ? dealer in Magic Tricks, Jugglers' and Magicians' Apparatus, a Price List of Secrets, and the original pictorial mailing cover most likely addressed in Scheidler's hand. All printed on pulp paper, and copiously illustrated (primarily with stock cuts of the era, including some full-page images), and in generally very good condition.Scheidler operated his varied mail-order enterprises and ?school of magic" from his home base of Cleveland. He was a regular performer at fairs, and on circuses and sideshows, most prominently with Barnum & Bailey.
