SCHOTT, Gaspar (German, 1608-1666). Physica Curiosa. Wurzburg: Excudit Jobus Hertz; Sumptibus Wolfgangi Mauritii Endteri, 1697. Two volumes, 4to. Contemporary vellum; titles in ink on spine (circular section of vellum worn away on upper cover of first volume). With the half-title, engraved title, 60 engraved plates, 6 folding. Browning throughout both volumes. Penciled collation on inner front board of first volume. Physica Curiosa is widely considered to be one of Gaspar Schott?s most comprehensive works, with in-depth discussions on angels, demons, witchcraft, as well as animals and physical deformities in human beings.
