[xviii], 1-102 pp. Bound in a special presentation binding for Maurice Sendak by the publishers in contemporary full blue levant morocco, spine tooled in blind and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, pictorial endleaves, top edge gilt (a few small bumps to the front board). Fine. FIRST EDITION, MAURICE SENDAK?S PERSONAL COPY WITH HIS BOOKPLATE ON THE VERSO OF THE FFEP, IN A SPECIAL PRESENTATION BINDING FROM THE PUBLISHER. Sendak?s illustrations are based on a stage production he designed for the Pacific Northwest Ballet.
