Condition
Some edgewear, soiling toning to wrappers and text, one faint vertical crease throughout, some occasional marginal chipping, short tears. Very good. THE RARE FIRST ISSUE OF THIS EARLY SPIRITUALIST PERIODICAL. The Western Star focused on communication between spirits and mortals at the height of 19th-century American spiritualism. Articles explore the Fox sisters, “Ghost Land,” and theories of spirit existence. Minimalist blue wrapper with ornate lettering gives it a solemn, mystical feel prized by occult and esoterica collectors.
