Original blue cloth, upper cover and spine lettered in gilt, black top stain (light rubbing at extreme ends); original dust jacket (extremities chipped and a bit sunned). Provenance: Gertrude Mahoney (bookplate).FIRST EDITION, INSCRIBED BY STARRETT. This is the first book on Sherlock Holmes scholarship, and a cornerstone of Sherlockiana.
