New York: Covici Friede, [1936]. 269, [1, blank] pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board stamped in blind, spine stamped in gilt (no publisher's imprint on spine), publisher's clipped dust jacket (clipped by publisher's no price missing, as issued; cloth spine rubbed, some offsetting to endleaves; jacket spine toned, edgeworn, several creased tears, front jacket creased with tears at lower portion, some soiling, toning to jacket). Very good. SECOND EDITION, IN SECOND STATE DUST JACKET (?Author of ?Of Mice and Men'" on front jacket panel). Steinbeck's first novel, and his only work of historical fiction. Goldstone & Payne A1c.
