Illustrated. 305 pp. Publisher’s deluxe binding of full dark green leather, spine lettered in silver in compartments, four raised bands, green cloth slipcase. FIRST EDITION, #XCVIII/300 COPIES SIGNED BY BOTH AUTHORS, AND HAMER’S WIDOW AND SON.
Condition
Faint pencil markings on endleaves, slipcase lightly bumped, some minor damage to spine where the small metal facsimile badge was removed or fell off. Fine.
- Provenance
Hamer was a Texas Ranger and lawman who led the posse who tracked down and killed Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker; he was later inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame. As an aside, co-author H. Gordon Frost murdered his fiancée’s ex-husband and then committed suicide. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy.
