Hinton, John Edward, ed. The History and Topography of the United States of America. Boston: Samuel Walker, 1834. First American edition. Two volumes with additions and corrections by Samuel L. Knapp. Contemporary diced half calf over marbled boards, 5 compartments twice filet and titled in gilt with raised bands, marbled endpapers. Illustrated with 41 steel-engraved plates including frontispieces, pictorial titles, and a map of North America by Samuel Walker. 4to. [8], viii, (7)-427; [10], 507, [1]. Boards rubbed, hinges split at ends but still strong, light foxing at margins.
