Engraved frontispiece and plates behind tissue. 8vo. xii, 384pp. Slightly canted, some foxing to plates; a bit rubbed, but sturdy and clean overall. Includes tales of riverboat gambling, the slave trade, and the mythologized milieu unique to New Orleans in the mid-nineteenth century that included a broad range of vices and sins.
