UTZ, Thornton (American, 1914-1999) Study for June 7, 1960 cover of The Saturday Evening Post. [Saturday Evening Post, 1960]. Acrylic gouache on illustration board. 17 ? x 13 ??. Unsigned. Some wear, foxing, upper corner creased. The final version of this study appeared on the June 4, 1960 cover. As placeholder text, Utz wrote humorous article titles in the upper right corner: ?Why Kennedy will become a Buddist. Can the ?Eisenhower Khrushchev? team win next November??
