[VOYAGES AND TRAVELS]. FRASER, James B. (1783-1856). Narrative of a Journey into Khorasan, in the Years 1821 and 1822. Including Some Account of the Countries to the North-East of Persia... London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown, and Green, 1825. 4to. Large folding map at front. 623, [148, Appendix, tables, index] pp. With Errata slip. Contemporary full calf, rebacked to style in modern calf, spine ruled in gilt, brown gilt morocco lettering label, later endleaves.
Condition
Boards worn, soiled, scuffed, map toned and creased, text toned with occasional thumbsoiling, foxing, a few pencil markings. Fine. FIRST EDITION OF FRASER'S TRAVELS THROUGH PERSIA. Fraser was part of a mission led by Sir Andrew Jukes. Juke died along the way, and afterwards, Fraser set out toward Bokhara and explored Khorasan.
