Also with 2 loose folding maps ("Map shewing approximate race distribution in Sikhim 1892" and "Skeleton map of Sikhim") and a 3 1/2-page (on 3 folio sheets) manuscript itinerary of a journey along the western border of Sikhim in an unknown contemporary hand (this manuscript is not called-for). 392 pp. Publisher's full brown cloth over beveled boards, boards and spine stamped in gilt, publisher's pocket affixed to ffep.
Condition
Binding worn, soiled, scuffed, pocket lightly separating at margins from ffep., text toned, some foxing, light soiling to endleaves, a few leaves wrinkled, some pencil notations throughout from a modern owner. Very good. FIRST EDITION OF THIS RARE COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY OF SIKHIM IN NORTHERN INDIA, WITH IMPORTANT CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION.
