London and New York: Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1900. 8vo. 358, [2, ads], [2, blank] pp. Beautifully bound in modern full brown calf, front board with custom onlaid gray cloth panel and red morocco onlay, front board and spine lettered in gilt, black watered silk endleaves, original cloth bound-in (bound-in cloth, toned and soiled, text a bit toned with occasional edgewear, previous owner's signature on front blank). Near fine. FIRST EDITION OF THIS SHORT STORY COLLECTION. Includes the stories: The Crystal Egg, The Star, A Story of the Stone Age, A Story of the Days to Come, The Man Who Could Work Miracles.
