Chicago: The Werner Company, 1896. 4to. Profusely illustrated. 590 pp. Publisher's full brown cloth, front board pictorially stamped in colors, spine stamped in gilt, floral endleaves (spine toned and edgeworn, some edgewear to boards, corners a bit bumped, text a bit toned, some minor soiling to edge of text block). Very good. FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE (?General" on frontispiece). Miles served in the Civil War, the Indian Wars, the Spanish-American War and more. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy. Measurements: 11 x 10 x 2".
