A complete and authentic issue of The Weekly Magazine" Edinburgh, February 9, 1775, 32pp., disbound, VG. From the interior under "America" comes a review of the various colonies readiness. in part, "... an express from Boston informing that two regiments were coming to take possession of our fort ... the colony of Connecticut merits our highest regard ... consists of thirty regiments ... a Brig was taken in 128 pieces of cannon to carry to Boston ... All provincial assemblies that have met since the continental congress have fully approved and adopted the measures agreed upon (re: Mutual Association).In 1775, various agreements among American colonists for collective action against British policies, most notably the Continental Association (or Articles of Association) adopted by the First Continental Congress in late 1774, establishing non-importation boycotts, and later local commitments like New York's General Association (May 1775), solidifying colonial unity and moving towards independence by pledging mutual support against tyranny. These pacts created economic and political bonds, showing colonists uniting for shared goals, from boycotting tea to forming unified forces like the Continental Army.
