  Jenna Kuiper’s tactile mushroom paintings focus on the physical characteristics of the interconnected fungi and are inspired by the belief in their healing properties. The details in this painting are reminiscent of iridescence without actually being reflective. This unique artwork was created specifically for this auction. “I started painting mushrooms after my son was born in 2017. An old medicine— mushrooms—referred to in some cultures as niños santos or “holy children,” are believed to have an innate ability to respond and adapt to rapid change.” — Jenna Kuiper
