"Extra Coin Silver Plate" is a rare marking found on some antique and vintage flatware, indicating it is silver-plated rather than solid silver. Early 20th Century manufacturers first began using the term "Coin Silver Plate" to market a higher-quality silver-plated item, referencing the standard for coin silver (approximately 90% pure) that was common in the 19th Century. The term "Extra" was meant to convey a thicker, more durable layer of plating, and was reserved for the finest plated flatware from a handful of companies mainly in the United States in the New England area.
All commensurate with age.
