2006 Signed Super Bowl XL Championship New England Patriots Helmet. Silver Riddell New England Patriots replica football helmet featuring a red facemask. Signed on sides by members of the Patriots, including Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi, Larry Izzo, Benjamin Watson, Dan Koppen, Ellis Hobbs, Matt Cassel, and others from the team.

Around the time of Super Bowl XL (played in early 2006 to cap the 2005 season), the New England Patriots were already established as a modern dynasty under head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, having won three titles in four seasons (2001, 2003, 2004). By that specific Super Bowl, however, they weren’t participants—the team had been knocked out in the divisional round by the Denver Broncos—but they were still widely viewed as the league’s gold standard, known for situational football, adaptable game plans, and a defense built on intelligence and discipline rather than star power. Even in a year without a championship appearance, the Patriots’ culture of preparation and their ability to reinvent themselves week to week kept them at the center of the NFL conversation and set the stage for their continued success in the Brady–Belichick era.
