Kosta Boda Frosted Glass Vase. Tall, slender frosted glass vase featuring a mottled light blue body with a wide red rim, small red floral accents on the sides, and a translucent white base .
Size: 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 s 15 in.
Kosta Boda is a renowned Swedish glassmaker known for bold, artistic glass that blends traditional craftsmanship with modern design. Founded in 1742 in the Småland region of Sweden, the company began by producing practical glassware but evolved into one of Scandinavia’s leading producers of contemporary art glass. Skilled glassblowers and designers collaborate to create expressive vases, sculptures, and tableware characterized by vivid colors, experimental shapes, and sculptural forms. Especially from the mid-20th century onward, Kosta Boda embraced avant-garde design, working with notable artists such as Bertil Vallien and Ulrica Hydman Vallien, whose imaginative pieces helped make the brand internationally famous. Today Kosta Boda glass is valued both as functional design and collectible studio art, representing the enduring tradition of Swedish glassmaking.
