Massive Treasure Trove of 1960s Beatles Photos. Massive recently discovered Treasure Trove of 1960s Beatles Photos. Hundreds of Original photos, negatives & contact sheets with Full Copyright Transfer rights to the collection. Photos of the Beatles first Concert of their first proper tour of America in 1964 after their record breaking debut on the Ed Sullivan show and also of their 1965 San Francisco Concert, the last stop on their North American tour. All recorded on film by the well known San Francisco professional photographer Proctor Jones. The collection is comprised of 45 original photographs (7 are 16x 20 inches) 105 Contact Sheets, 250 negatives (approx), 150 of Proctor Jones business cards with Beatles photos. The wildly successful first show was attended by 17, 130 fans. It had to be stopped twice. Police had to restrain fans from invading the stage. 19 girls required first aid. At the end of the show the band escaped in an ambulance as their limousine was surrounded by fans. A year later at their 1965 San Francisco Concert the stage was successfully invaded by a large group of fans forcing the Beatles to retreat backstage until order was restored. Capturing all the excitement and chaos on film was the San Francisco Socialite photographer Proctor Jones(1916-1999) Jones was a descendant of William Whipple, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. He studied at Harvard, Stanford and Case Western. His society connections gave him special access to the Beatles beginning with their arrival at the airport, continuing through their press conference and allowed him close proximity to the stage during the live concerts.
