Paul Beau & Company Montreal Arts & Crafts Hand Hammered Brass Bowl. Wear and bumps commensurate with age.
This is a hand-hammered brass bowl exhibiting the hallmarks of Canadian Arts & Crafts metalwork, likely produced by Paul Beau & Co. of Montreal during the early 1900s. The bowl’s irregular surface texture, subtle asymmetry, and visible hammer marks reflect a handcrafted approach that was central to the Arts & Crafts movement, which emphasized individual craftsmanship and simplicity of form.
The warm, golden tone of the brass has aged to a rich patina, and light verdigris spotting is visible—typical of untreated historic brass. The utilitarian yet artful design suggests it may have served as a functional vessel—possibly for fruit, potpourri, or other household use—while also standing as a decorative object.
