Sight Size: 2 3/4 x 6 3/4 in.Rembrandt van Rijn (1606–1669) was a Dutch master painter and etcher, celebrated for his profound ability to capture human emotion, light, and atmosphere. A central figure of the Dutch Golden Age, Rembrandt's work spans dramatic historical scenes, intimate self-portraits, and deeply psychological biblical depictions, such as The Night Watch, The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp, and The Return of the Prodigal Son. His innovative use of chiaroscuro—dramatic contrasts of light and shadow—helped define his distinctive style and added emotional intensity to his subjects. Despite personal and financial hardships later in life, Rembrandt's introspective and technically masterful works cemented his status as one of the greatest artists in Western art history.
