Salvador Dalí (1904-1989) Spanish, Surrealist Lithograph Print "Dawn (From Papillions Anciennes)". Surrealist lithograph that features vibrant butterflies, abstract figures, and nautical elements set against a dreamlike coastal backdrop. Signed on matte lower right. Framed.

Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) was a Spanish surrealist painter, sculptor, and writer renowned for his striking, dreamlike imagery and eccentric persona. Born in Figueres, Catalonia, Dalí studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid and became a leading figure of the Surrealist movement, creating iconic works such as The Persistence of Memory. His art combined meticulous classical techniques with bizarre, imaginative subjects, often exploring themes of dreams, sexuality, and the subconscious. Beyond painting, Dalí worked in film, photography, sculpture, and literature, collaborating with artists like Luis Buñuel and Alfred Hitchcock. Known for his flamboyant personality and eccentric public appearances, he became one of the most famous and controversial artists of the 20th century, leaving a lasting influence on both visual art and popular culture.
