- Lot Description
Turkish Hand Knotted Framed Miniature Rug. Framed rectangular textile artwork, likely a miniature Persian rug, featuring a central composition divided into four distinct panels within an ornate border. The four inner panels depict a variety of scenes and motifs: the upper left shows a floral and avian design, the upper right features a deep blue arched mihrab-like niche with an animal, the lower left displays a deep red arched motif, and the lower right presents a naturalistic scene of swans in water with a bridge and archway in the background. The central imagery is surrounded by a complex border with complementary floral and scrolling patterns in muted tones of cream, teal, and gold, all set against a vibrant red velvet mat. Framed.
