The Babe makes hard contact and pulls one deep to right, with the catcher and umpire watching the ball's flight path, in this wonderful vintage original photograph dating to early in Ruth's Yankees career.
The "4/11/21" dated caption on the verso notes that it was his "first home run of the big league season" in the first inning against the Brooklyn Robins at Ebbets Field. Records show the Yanks defeated their crosstown rivals, 10-7, in an exhibition game on that date. They would officially open the regular season two days later at home against Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics. On the official opening day, Babe went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate. The photograph presents horizontally in the PSA jumbo holder.
