Offered here is an original photograph capturing Babe Ruth tipping his cap after homering in Game 2 of the 1923 World Series. The Babe homered twice in Game 2 at the Polo Grounds, leading the Yanks to a 4-2 win over the Giants. It would be the Yankees' first title in franchise history.
A truly iconic image of the Bambino, this is one of the most recognizable and historic images of baseball’s greatest legend. Taken by International Newsreel, the vintage Type 1 photo is a genuine period print developed off the original negative within two years of when the picture was taken. The 8x10 photograph beautifully showcases Ruth in full uniform, basking in the adoration of the crowd in one of his finest moments.
