Ken Griffey Jr. really set himself apart as one of the best players in baseball from 1992 to '94. He finished top five in AL MVP voting twice and was runner-up in 1994. He smacked at least 40 home runs and drove in 100 runs twice, averaging .313 with 37 homers, 101 RBI, 97 runs scored and 13 stolen bases in those three campaigns.
Presented here is one of Griffey Jr.'s Worth 'W225' pro model gamers from that breakout period of his young career. The blonde ash bat exhibits outstanding use with a small crack on the upper handle. The barrel is covered with contact marks, paint transfers from batted balls, and black bat rack streaks. Checking from repeated ball contact is visible on the back barrel. The model "W225" is stamped on the knob end along with "4" to denote a length of 34 inches. The weight of the bat is now 30.1 ounces. The lower handle is taped in a spiral pattern to Junior's liking. The Kid has signed the front barrel in bold blue marker for excellent eye appeal.
Bat expert John Taube of PSA/DNA has given the bat a nearly perfect GU 9.5 grade. The autograph is certified by JSA with a COA card. Our consignor has included a 1993 Topps #179 Griffey Jr. card which shows him using a Worth blonde gamer (perhaps this exact same one based on the similar looking tape job).
