- Lot Description
Portuguese national Bernardo Silva has enjoyed an outstanding football career in Europe since he debuted with Benfica in 2013. The left-footer, known for his elegance, technical skills and creativity on the pitch, is adept at playing as attacking midfielder, left wing and occasional striker. Starting in Benfica’s youth system, Silva transferred to Monaco in 2015 just before his 21st birthday. After a successful stint in Ligue 1 that included a French league title, Silva moved to Manchester City for a £43.5 million fee where he has spent the last eight seasons and now serves as captain.
With the Portugal National Team, Silva has been a fixture since 2015 and now has 105 caps. The 31-year-old is on pace to move up the charts and perhaps catch such Portuguese legends as Figo and Pepe. He’ll never catch Cristiano Ronaldo in that quest, but his resumé as an all-time great for his country continues to climb.
