- Lot Description
This is a rare on-site poster for the July 1, 1975 heavyweight title fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Bugner held at Merdeka Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The pair had fought two years earlier, with Ali earning a unanimous decision in that one. The 1975 rematch was fought in debilitating tropical heat, going the full 15 rounds and ending in another unanimous decision for The Greatest.
This poster was displayed on-site at the Malaysian venue and was printed in a yellow and black version as offered here. The dramatic hi-contrast action image of Ali and Bugner dominates the dynamic design. Aside from some minor scratching and surface wear, the poster remains in terrific overall condition. It has been professionally matted and framed to dimensions of approximately 22" by 30”.
