- Lot Description
The 1977 Los Angeles Dodgers were led by new manager Tommy Lasorda to a 98-64 record, good for first in the NL West. LA beat the Philadelphia Phillies in four games in the NLCS, setting up a matchup with the New York Yankees in the World Series. The Yankees emerged victorious in the Series in six games.
This 14k gold ring was presented to former Dodgers third baseman Ron Cey. The top of the ring reads Dodgers National League Champions surrounding a baseball diamond made up of diamonds for the bases and home plate. The left panel features a casted image of a pennant engraved with the name “CEY” and the Dodgers “ascending baseball” script logo. The right panel features a casted image of the Dodgers’ jet in the clouds, symbolizing the team’s road victories in the NLCS. Below that is the interlocking “LA” logo and “1977”. The inside of the ring is stamped “LGB 14K”. The ring weighs 33.76 grams and is a size 10. Part of the Cey Collection.
