Victorian Savonarola-style Armchair, shaped back carved with mask and leaves, armrests carved with roaring lions, legs set on claw-carved feet, ht. 42 1/2, wd. 23 1/2, dp. 24 in.
Note: In the 1960s Henry Townshend Jr. added the Townshend family's coat of arms in leather to the seat back.
Provenance: Townshend Collection.Condition
Condition: Break to two sections at the top of crest where a decorative top is missing.
