- Lot Description
Circa, 600/800 A.D., the hollow standing terracotta figure of impressive size, the short arms hung at the sides next to a large belly, and a thong around the waist. The head featuring incised slits at the eyes and mouth, a detailed nose and piercings in the ears. Red slip patinated from age and oxidation. Ht. 19, wd. 9 ¼ in. at shoulders. Provenance: Private collection, Phoenix, AZ; Paul Shephard, Tucson, AZ.
