- Lot Description
Blackfoot, late third quarter 19th century, decorated with bands of beadwork at the forming stepped triangular motifs of blue, black and amber, and an alternating amber and black liner motif band underneath. The neck is stitched with red trade cloth and beaded with sections of turquoise glass beads. The lower portion features extensive hide fringe with scattered red trade cloth accents. The hide shows age-related wear, staining, and softness from handling. Lg. 49, wd. 53 in sleeve to sleeve. Provenance: Private collection, Denver, CO.
