- Lot Description
A Colima phallic figure circa 200 B.C. - 200 A.D., holding a prominent erect phallus with his proper right hand, the left held to his back. The face apparently wearing some kind of mask with distorted eyes and mouth, otherwise sporting typical Colima gear and helmet. cf: For another very similar figure, see Sculpture of Ancient West Mexico: the Proctor Stafford Collection, by Kan, Meighan, and Nicholson, Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the University of New Mexico Press, 1989, Fig. #111.
