- Lot Description
A group of three moccasins, each sinew-sewn with meticulous hand-beading with traditional Plains motifs and geometric design elements. Two pairs fully beaded, with one displaying the initials "AEF" in the front along with patriotic American flag motifs, the other with polychrome seed beads wrapped around the hide. The third moccasin features a written inscription on one side "Moccasin worn by Kicking Bird, Kiowa Chief, Died May 8, 1895, Jas. Hayworth, AGT. Ft. Sill, OK." Remnants of red trade cloth around the ankle. Each lg. approx. 10 in.
