Antique Mexican (Guerrero) hand-shaped and painted copper Barbones (bearded man) mask with repousse method detailing, and flaking paint remnants revealing green patina, circa early 20th century
height 12 in. x width 10.5 in. x depth 3.25 in.
Provenance: The Estate collection of late teacher and humanitarian Douglas Rhodenbaugh, from his historic downtown Austin, Texas home. Mr. Rhodenbaugh spent decades traveling throughout Latin America assuming his vast collection of folk and fine arts, often buying pieces directly from the artisans he met on his travels.
