Condition: Fair-Antique; wood stock & forend have significant wear & patina w/ large split on left side of stock & repaired split on left & right sides connecting to the receiver; some chipping; barrel & receiver have brown/gray patina w/ scattered pitting/rust throughout; bore is frosted throughout, but remains bright; lightly worn, but usable rifling; hammer mechanism is not currently activating the trigger or mainspring; missing upper tang screw, buttplate tang sling swivel and lower sling swivel
Marked: left side of barrel/frame collar is marked "KENTUCKY"; left side of receiver is marked "MERIDEN MANFG. CO. / MERIDEN, CONN."; upper tang is marked "TRIPLETT & SCOTT / PATENT DEC. 6, 1864"; right side of barrel/frame collar is marked "M"
