Nancy Emma Ray Pawel (Texas / Massachusetts, 1928-2021), two glazed pottery castles with colored and gold accents, dated 1995 and 1996, signed on castle wall base, with additional signature and dated inside lower rim; called a "Christmas Castle" since Pawel would traditionally give them as gifts to her neighbors in the Terrell Hills neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas
height 13 in. x 4 in. diameter / greater
Provenance: Property from the Alamo Heights home of late San Antonio, Texas civic leaders Samuel Chilton Maverick and Harriette Rice Maverick
