Nancy Emma Ray Pawel (Texas / Massachusetts, 1928-2021), large glazed pottery castle with colored and gold accents, dated 1999, signed on castle wall base, with additional signature and dated inside lower rim; called a "Christmas Castle" since Pawel would traditionally give them as gifts to her neighbors in the Terrell Hills neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas
height 21 in. x 8 in. diameter
Provenance: Property from the Alamo Heights home of late San Antonio, Texas civic leaders Samuel Chilton Maverick and Harriette Rice Maverick
