A Northern Plains hide dress featuring a broad yoke richly decorated with period glass seed beads in blue, lavender, maroon, yellow, and red geometric designs. Suspended beaded drops adorn the chest, while the sleeves, sides, and hem retain long hide fringe. Mounted in a modern shadowbox frame for display. Dresses of this type were important expressions of cultural identity and craftsmanship, with the colorful beadwork reflecting the widespread adoption of imported glass trade beads by Plains tribes during the late nineteenth century.
