A Pomo basket bowl woven by the Pomo people of Northern California, whose traditional homelands encompass present-day Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, and Napa counties. The bowl displays a broad, open form with bold geometric decoration in dark and natural fibers. A distinctive feature is the pair of shell and feather ornaments suspended from the rim.
Dimensions: 12 x 5.25 in., high.
