This set of photographs comes to us directly from the Bud Wilkinson personal collection.In 1972, Charles Wilkinson (1916-1994) was awarded the Presidential Star by Richard Nixon. Wilkinson won three college national football championships as both a player (1934-1936) and as head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners (1950, 1955, and 1956). In 1964 he became the lead color commentator on college football telecasts for ABC Sports. In 1969 he became a Special Consultant to the President on the President Council on Youth Opportunity. He was head coach of the St. Louis Cardinals (NFL) from 1978-79 before returning to broadcasting for ESPN.
Condition: Good Condition, showing age. No damage or apparent defects to report. If documentation is not listed or photographed, the lot is sold without documentation. Pick-Up: The buyer is responsible for arranging pick-up and shipment of all purchased lots. If sold items have not been removed from Woodard Lipe within thirty (30) days, Woodard Lipe may charge a storage fee of $10.00 per day.
