In the 1430s, artist Martin Schongauer utilized copper engraving to manufacture a new kind of printmaking called Intaglio. It is among the four main groups of printmaking processes in the visual arts. Its procedures are perhaps the most flexible printmaking procedures since they can achieve a vast variety of effects using a diverse amount of techniques. Some samples of intaglio procedures are Etching and mezzotint. It contrasts with relief imprinting, in which it utilizes ink that is enforced down the plate's exterior. The logo is carved or abraded into the imprinting exterior or plate. Intaglio prints of non-identical colors can be manufactured in two ways. One of them is that a doll-structured package of textile is utilized to add several colors to non-identical plots of a single plate in the à la poupée procedure and then imprinted commonly. Different plates even with an unidentical color are favorably overprinted on paper. When using this multiple-plate process, the printer must take special care to secure that every consecutive color is placed exactly where it should be. The utilization of pinholes to verify synchronization is one of the most accurate ways of ensuring color registration.
